Training on Enoxaparin pre-filled syringe device (Inhixa brand) – How to use the syringe device to avoid needle stick injuries

Our Trust is planning to switch from Clexane injection to Inhixa (biosimilar of Enoxaparin) by August 2021 and to ensure staff are able to safely use the new devices training sessions are being made available over the next two weeks.
The training will be provided by a representative from the manufacturer and focus on how to use the devices safely and avoid needle stick injuries. All nursing and healthcare colleagues involved in administering Enoxapirin are encouraged to join the training on one of the following dates.
- 6 July: Tuesday – City wards/clinical areas
- 7 July: Wednesday –Sandwell wards/clinical areas
- 8 July: Thursday – City wards/clinical areas
- 9 July: Friday – Sandwell wards/clinical areas
- 12 July: Monday -Rowley /Leasowes /The Lyng centre
- 14 July: Wednesday – Location TBC
- 15 July: Thursday – via Microsoft Teams – sessions 9.30 – 10am, 11.30 – 12pm, 2- 2.30pm (for staff on COVID wards or any other staff who couldn’t attend the training)
Matrons and Nurse Managers will be cascading the training to colleagues who are unable to attend the training.
