Today is National AHP Day!

Allied Health Professions (AHPs) will be celebrating the annual 7th AHP Day this year on Monday 14 October! It’s the annual opportunity for AHPs and AHP support workers in England, and now internationally to unite and revel in their contribution. AHP Day also offers a platform to spotlight the remarkable impact AHPs have the delivery of patient care.

AHPs are a group of healthcare professionals from 14 different professions and are the third largest healthcare workforce in the NHS .

Here at the Trust, we employ 10 of the 14 professions which include Diagnostic Radiographers, Speech and Language Therapists, Operating Department Practitioners, Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Orthotists, Orthoptists, Paramedics, Podiatrists and Occupational Therapists.

Richard Beeken , Trust Chief Executive Officer added – I wanted to personally thank all of our AHPs across the Trust – you are fundamental to so much of the good work that we do delivering safe patient care, you and your teams make a huge difference to the lives of our patients on a day to day basis helping to treat, rehabilitate  and generally improve the lives of our patients in the Trust and community.
