Suicide awareness and response training
October 19, 2023
Black Country ICS are hosting a virtual Suicide Awareness and Response training available for all staff in a primary and secondary care clinical role, to increase your knowledge and understanding of suicide and how you can respond in primary and secondary care.
The training will help you understand how to use the clinical tool, SAFETool, to support the assessment of a patient at risk of suicide. You will also practice triage, assessment and referral skills using a clinical case to facilitate referral to mental health services if needed and will know how to co-produce a safety plan, providing valuable CPD accreditation and evidence of continued learning and development in safeguarding patients.
Participants will be provided with access to a further short online module that must be completed to be accredited to use SAFETool
Virtual sessions will commence:
- Thursday 19 October, 1.00pm -16.30pm
- Wednesday 1 October, 9.30am -13.00pm
- Thursday 16 November, 1.00pm – 16.30pm
