Ramadan 2018

June 14, 2018

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. This annual observance is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam.

During this month the SWBH Muslim Liaison Group who are a part of the BME Staff Network alongside the Trust wanted to take the opportunity to highlight famous and important members of the Islamic Faith.

Today we look at Anser Khan who is a security officer at City Hospital and co-chair of the BME Staff Network.

Anser believes that working in such a diverse and multi-cultural organisation with many, faiths and beliefs, it is imperative that everyone is respected and treated fairly and equally. Religious, cultural and social barriers should be broken down if we are to have harmonious environments at work and in society.
