MRI scanner at City currently unavailable

Please be aware that the MRI scanner on the main City Hospital site is currently unavailable.

A substantial breakdown has occurred and Siemens engineers are on site daily to determine the root cause and rectify the siltation. Unfortunately at this time we have no firm date for resolution.

Patients who are clinically suitable will be scanned within the BTC or on the mobile van located outside the main MRI department.

For those remaining patients the clinical teams are advised to discuss with a radiologist and determine whether alternative imaging is possible and/or the need to transfer the patient to Sandwell MRI.

We are working to resolve the matter as soon as we can and apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.
