Heartbeat: Hello my name is… Rajinder Biran
February 19, 2020
We’d like to wish Rajinder Biran a very warm welcome to our Trust. Joining us as associate director of corporate governance, she will be taking the lead on ensuring we have the correct corporate processes and procedures in place to deliver quality patient care.
We caught up with Rajinder who told Heartbeat: “I’m very excited to be joining the Trust. In my role, I will be working to ensure that we have robust corporate governance processes and procedures in place and that they are being adhered to across the organisation.”
“It’s important for us to have these procedures in place. They will demonstrate that we’re all working to offer a safe, effective and caring service that is well-led. My areas of responsibility will help us to provide back-office support to our clinical teams. This, in turn, will ensure we’re delivering front line patient care that is responsive to patients’ needs.”
Rajinder previously worked at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust. She commented: “The focus of my role was the assurance around improvements in patient care with a strong focus on CQC outcomes. I had the opportunity to work across a variety of projects such as the reconfiguration of the pathology service.”
Before joining us, Rajinder worked in both the private and public sector roles including as the director of operations for Tribal Education Children Services. When speaking to Heartbeat, Rajinder said how much she is looking forward to playing an active part in the organisation and the local community. She remarked: “I like the upbeat nature of the Trust; it appeals to me as I’m someone that likes to see the positives in life. Everyone has been so welcoming.”
She added: “I look forward to seeing the launch of the Midland Metropolitan Hospital. That will have a massive impact on the lives of people in the local area and, of course, mean lots of new opportunities. I’m keen to take part in events in and around the Trust and would welcome any invites to upcoming occasions.”
Outside of work, Rajinder enjoys spending time with her family. She has two children that are currently preparing for their GCSE and A-level exams.
Be sure to give Rajinder a big, friendly SWB welcome if you see her out and about.
