HCR meet with patient transfer groups – move planning continues
May 15, 2024
As HCR completed their move planning meetings for this visit, they hosted the City patient transfer working group meeting on Wednesday.
Several teams including IT, pharmacy, imaging, wards, AMU and the cath lab attended to discuss the operational move for patients. There were conversations around how to safely move patients from the wards and departments and the supporting protocols required to do so. HCR explained the command structure that will be in place and associated communications planned for the day to ensure all aspects of the move are delivered in a coordinated way.
Support teams will be placed at each of the sites to assist with arrivals at Midland Met. As you’d expect, routine patient visits will not be allowed on the move day, at least until all patients have been safely moved.
The meeting gave teams the opportunity to address any queries and contribute to the plans and details of the patient moving process. All in all, a positive step forward as we continue our detailed move planning with HCR. For any queries, please contact your move champion or email kellythompson1@nhs.net.
