CT to trial new call system

Our CT department at Sandwell are set to trial a new automated call management system on the acute scanner. The aim of the new system is to reduce the number of interruptions currently faced by the CT team which could be better managed outside of the acute setting, enabling a more patient focused service.

Calls can still be made to the CT scanner as normal  by calling ext. 2531, where the caller will then be given options for their query to be directed to the most appropriate support. This will include an option to still speak to the radiographer if required.

The plan is to trial this process and assess its effectiveness, while considering any feedback received from the service users.

The new system will be going live Monday 3 July, 9am.
