Are you verifying your agency worker IDs?

The NHS Employment Check Standards mandate that all individuals, including temporary agency workers, undergo thorough identity verification before commencing any role within the NHS.

A department/clinical area should verify the agency worker’s identification documents when they arrive to undertake any duties within the Trust.

The identity verification process involves several key steps:

  1. Requesting Identification documentation: Workers must provide photographic identification on arrival within the department/clinical area
  2. Induction check list: This must be completed and retained by the department clinical area.
