Having great one to one discussions – guidance for everyone
October 22, 2024
We are pleased to launch our new guide for holding great one to one discussions. This is accessible by anyone across the Trust – whether you’re a member of staff wanting to get the best out of a conversation with your manager, or a line manager wanting to ensure your team has the best possible experience when meeting with you.
The guide provides you with an overview of best practice to consider and enact when planning, holding, and concluding one-to-one conversations. A one to one discussion is a planned conversation. These discussions are an essential aspect of People Performance Management and good management practices. They provide dedicated time to reflect, consider progress, identify any support or development needs and explore anything. SWB is committed to a culture of compassion and views ongoing one to one discussions as a key enabler of this.
Consider your on-going learning and development needs that can be explored during your next one to one discussion. There is a whole range of learning opportunities available to you – consider the ‘growth and development opportunities with the Learning and OD Brochure for inspiration.
If you have any questions about this, contact the Learning and Development and Organisational Development Team by emailing swbh.landd@nhs.net.
