World Hand Hygiene Day: 5 May
May 1, 2024
Hand hygiene is vital to help stop the spread of harmful germs in healthcare settings.
Standard infection control precautions (SICPs) are to be used by all staff, in all care settings, at all times, to ensure the safety of those being cared for, staff and visitors in the care environment.
SICPs are the basic infection prevention and control measures necessary to reduce the risk of transmitting infectious agents from both recognised and unrecognised sources of infection.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) will run its annual global webinar on Monday 6 May, discussing the value of IPC and hand hygiene education and training. Find out more at: World Hand Hygiene Day 2024
