Message from Q-Park – our parking provider
July 3, 2024
Q-Park, the organisation who facilitate parking would like to remind colleagues of the following:
- Staff do not currently pay for car parking on Trust sites
Although staff were required to complete a direct debit mandate as part of their car parking permit application, this is not currently being taken. The Trust are currently covering the cost of car parking for its staff.
- Staff are only permitted to use staff car parks
When using the staff car parking permit to enter at barriers there are a number of restrictions. Staff are only permitted to park in staff car parks and not visitor only car parks during peak hours. These are clearly indicated on the entrance barrier to every car park across the Trust.
Staff members are permitted to use the visitor parking only car parks between the hours of 3pm – 7am.
Some staff have formal permission to use the visitor car parks and this is assessed on an individual basis. If you believe you require use of the visitor car parks please speak to your manager for a referral to occupational health.
- Staff are required to park within designated bays at all times.
Across our car parks, there are a number different markings for bays. Please familiarise yourself with the parking bays in the areas you park and ensure that your vehicle is parked within these and not impeding other users parking. Please do not park in areas that have yellow cross hatching or have been coned or barriered off, there may be a number of reasons for a car parking bay not being in use including security and maintenance. Failure to do so may result in being issued with a PCN.
- There are a number of electric car parking bays across the Trust
To use these before 11am staff are required to be charging an electric vehicle. These restrictions are not in place if you park after 11am.
- Certain car parking spaces require additional windscreen permit passes
There are a number of bays across our sites that have restricted access to remain available for certain staff groups, including emergency on-call staff, security and community midwives. To park in these spaces you must display a valid windscreen permit at all times, these must be in date and have been issued by Q-Park and not the Trust. If you believe that you require a windscreen pass or yours needs updating please contact sandwellpermits@q-park.co.uk
- Staff car parking permits will be cancelled after three months of inactivity
You will be contacted before your permit is cancelled, however, if your pass has not been used for three months the pass will be deactivated and then cancelled. If you are leaving the Trust, no longer require your car parking permit or are going to be away from the organisation for an extended period of time please contact sandwellpermits@q-park.co.uk.
- Q-Park staff and hosts are to be treated with dignity and respect
Staff are expected to treat the Q-Park team with the same dignity and respect that they treat other Trust members of staff and our patients and visitors. Verbal and physical abuse of the Q-Park team may lead to disciplinary action.
- Please keep your details up to date on the Q-Park Portal
If you change your vehicle or any of your personal details change please update the Q-Park portal as soon as possible. This can be done by:
