Community-patient COVID-19 treatment service referral change

From Tuesday 27 June the community-patient COVID-19 treatment service referral change (CMDU) service will transition into a single service operated by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

The referral contact details for the Black Country ICB community COVID-19 treatment service (COVID-19 medicines delivery unit): will change to:

• Telephone: 07775752740 (Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm)
• Email: rwh-tr.cmdu.wolverhampton@nhs.net

When referring by email you can either use the template letter attached called CMD Referral (This will be added to your GP system as a template or complete a simple email that must include:

• Patient name
• NHS Number
• Date of birth
• Eligible medical condition (see clinical information below)
• Date of onset of symptoms (must be seven days or less)
• Where possible the date of positive LFT/PCR

The CMDU team will then contact the patient directly to assess them for treatment
