Parking barriers have now returned

August 17, 2020

Our Trust raised the barriers to its car parks and suspended car parking charges for staff, patients and visitors on the 23 March in response to government guidance and risks associated with COVID-19. The raising of the barriers unfortunately saw an increase in inconsiderate car parking and an increased number of security incidents in our car parks. As more staff return to work on site, and our hospital service get back to levels of normality there is a need to ensure the safety and security of our staff, patients and visitors. As such the Trust has made the decision to put the barriers back down to secure the parking areas.

Parking remains free until further notice, however staff with valid parking permits must only park on designated staff car parks and within designated parking bays. Please leave visitor spaces for our patients and visitors to use. Staff with a New Square parking permit are asked to return to parking at New Square, if they do not already do so.

A new afternoon car park for staff that work late shifts has also opened. This car park will operate in the same way as the afternoon car park at City. Parking is only allowed between the hours of 11.30am and 8am (the next day). Vehicles must have left the car park by 8am – vehicles found to be parked there between 8am and 11.30am each day may be issued with a parking charge notice value £50.
