Update on IT systems
March 2, 2018
The issues affecting IT clinical systems are becoming resolved and we hope to have most of our systems up and running towards the end of the afternoon.
Business continuity plans are in place and working well meaning that we can safely care for our patients, prioritising urgent and emergency care. We have strategic and tactical command in place to manage this incident.
Important information for clinical teams
- Pathology
The pathology team are prioritising diagnostics for urgent and emergency patients. Results will be phoned through to wards / departments. If you need to contact the pathology service please phone or use the bleep system. Make sure the patient’s location is clear on the request form.
- Imaging
Plain film images and scans are not able to be viewed currently on wards or in service areas. They can be viewed in the imaging department where there is radiology support for urgent reporting and to discuss results or view films. To make contact with the department please phone or use the bleep system.
Historic lab and imaging reports are still available through CDA.
Communications
We have floor walkers in place on our sites. Messages will be emailed out to colleagues and additionally, our floor walkers will be out spreading messages to wards and departments with the latest information.
You can escalate any issues of concern to tactical command as follows:
- Tactical Command Sandwell – Lead: Caroline Rennalls
- Tactical Command City – Lead: Michelle Harris
- Strategic Command – Lead: Rachel Barlow, Chief Operating Officer
