IT issue resolved

All IT systems should now be running as normal.
Thank you for your understanding and continuing to provide the best possible care for our patients.
A big thank you to our IT team – many of whom volunteered to work through the night to find a solution – what a great example of our Trust values.

Charity partner impressed with Midland Met
Following our patient safety site visit to Midland Met last Friday, the Trust hosted a visit to charity partner Bethel Health & Healing Network. Based in Balsall Heath, Birmingham, CEO Jennifer Jones-Rigby and Manager Margaret King accompanied our safety team.
Jennifer commented: “We provide doula eternal health services for pregnant ladies, so this visit was important to gain an insight into the care in the Serenity unit at Midland Met. It was fantastic to see and incredibly impressive.”
Margaret commented: “After working at City Hospital many years ago, it is a pleasure to view the remarkable facilities at Midland Met. The Serenity unit was impressive, and the overall hospital looks like somewhere that both patients and staff will be happy and will receive the best possible care.”

HCR meet with patient transfer groups – move planning continues
As HCR completed their move planning meetings for this visit, they hosted the City patient transfer working group meeting on Wednesday.
Several teams including IT, pharmacy, imaging, wards, AMU and the cath lab attended to discuss the operational move for patients. There were conversations around how to safely move patients from the wards and departments and the supporting protocols required to do so. HCR explained the command structure that will be in place and associated communications planned for the day to ensure all aspects of the move are delivered in a coordinated way.
Support teams will be placed at each of the sites to assist with arrivals at Midland Met. As you’d expect, routine patient visits will not be allowed on the move day, at least until all patients have been safely moved.
The meeting gave teams the opportunity to address any queries and contribute to the plans and details of the patient moving process. All in all, a positive step forward as we continue our detailed move planning with HCR. For any queries, please contact your move champion or email kellythompson1@nhs.net.
Update: Trac training sessions in 2024
The recruitment team are now hosting trac training sessions every two weeks, the dates for the rest of this year are listed below. Note: these are online sessions conducted over Microsoft Teams.
Trac is the recruitment system used for the whole process from setting up your vacancy to be approved and advertised, all the way through to pre-employment checks and arranging start dates. We can also cover any other recruitment queries you may have in these sessions, so come with your questions ready.
