Updated Sandwell’s multi agency request form comes in to effect today
From today (Thursday 1 December), Sandwell’s refreshed mutli agency request form (MARF) will come into effect. The MARF follows a lengthy consultation process from across all multi agency partners
The MARF is a form to request services from Sandwell Children’s Trust (SCT) for statutory children’s social care.

Job of the week: Lead AHP Support Worker Band 5 – 4-month secondment
Are you an experienced AHP support worker looking for a new challenge? Could you be a voice of our AHP support workers across the Trust? Perhaps you’re seeking an opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a safe supportive environment? If yes, then this job is for you!
We’re excited to advertise this new secondment opportunity as lead AHP support worker’ (AfC Band 5). The successful candidate will work with our chief allied health professional and healthcare scientist to champion the AHP support workforce agenda across the Trust. We have funding for this role part-time (0.4 WTE) for a 4-month secondment in the first instance.
Applications are welcome from AHP support workers from dietetics, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, operating department practice, orthoptics, orthotics, occupational therapy, radiography or podiatry.
The successful candidate will create a new AHP support worker group and develop AHP support workers in line with the allied health professions’ support worker competency, education and career development framework.

Pressure ulcer prevention event: 8 December
Come and join the tissue viability team and update your knowledge and skills at their drop in session on Thursday 8 December, 10am – 3.30pm in Conference Room, Sandwell Education Centre.
Topics which will be covered on the day include:
- Pressure ulcer prevention update
- Breakout training sessions on moisture associated skin damage, pressure ulcer categories, Unity
- Have a go at pressure mapping
- Meet the teams – safe guard, orthotics, fundamentals of care
- Pressure relieving equipment advice
- Product updates – continence, barrier skin protection, pressure relief equipment

Supporting World AIDS Day: 1 December
Today is World AIDS Day. It’s an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV and AIDS by increasing awareness, tackling prejudice and improving education.
Our sexual health teams will be out on tour today working alongside Sandwell Council’s public health team onboard a special ‘World AIDS Day’ bus touring the borough.
The bus will be staffed by public health and clinical professionals sharing advice and support, as well as helping people order free testing kits, and delivering an awareness session for students at Sandwell College’s Central Campus in West Bromwich.
Locations are:
- 9.15am-10am: Haden Hill Leisure Centre, Barrs Road, Cradley Heath
- 10.35am-10.50pm: Lyng Centre, Frank Fisher Way, West Bromwich
- 11.10am-11.45am: Sandwell Council House, Freeth Street, Oldbury
- 12noon-12.45pm: Pavilion, West Smethwick Park, West Park Road
- 1.05pm-2pm: Tesco, New Square, West Bromwich
