Sharps containers – are you using them correctly?
The Trust have been informed of a potential shortage in the supply of single use sharps containers. Although, this will not have a direct impact on the majority of areas as we use re-usable containers, there are some areas within the Trust and community that have to use single use containers.
With this in mind, please ensure that when using single or even the re-useable containers, they’re used correctly and you only dispose of items that should be in the container.
Note: Glass bottle, packaging and domestic waste should be disposed of using other appropriate waste streams.
For more information regarding waste disposal, please email dawn.hall@nhs.net.

This year as we focus on resetting our strategic objectives and rebuilding our services as we learn to live with COVID-19, we have reason to be optimistic as we fix our sights on the future and a period of restoration.
We have some special events lined up to celebrate you, our hardworking colleagues. We’ll also be using this opportunity to share updates with you on our new flagship hospital, Midland Met, whilst treating you to free ice cream, ice lolly or small slushie, plus lots more.
