New parking barrier system from Monday 24 May
From Monday 24 May Q-Park are starting a project to replace the current ParkAre equipment with a new Skidata barrier systems and pay stations at Rowley, City and Sandwell sites. The barriers and pay stations will be replaced like for like so the location of all the equipment will remain in the same place. Therefore, this install shouldn’t cause any disruption to your daily routine.
For the time being your existing permits will continue to work on the new system so there is no need to worry. The only change in the short term will be where you tap your barrier card on the new system to allow access and exit from your current car park. You will only be able to access the same car parks that your current barrier card allows. Please see image below.
Note: In the near future we will be asking all barrier card holders to apply for a new pass so please look out for this communication on when you should re-apply for a new permit.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Q-Park team at Sandwell@q-park.co.uk.

Last Friday we celebrated Operating Department Practitioner Day
National Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) Day took place last Friday (14 May). It promotes the profession and celebrates the vital work that ODPs perform in the NHS every day.
Following a particularly tough year, it is more important now than ever to give thanks and recognition to our colleagues who play vital roles within our NHS. Sandwell theatres marked the occasion with posters, gift bags with some token goodies, and photo props to enable colleagues to take pictures and share on social media.
Help us make incident reporting easier
Our Trust wants to continue encouraging people to report incidents, including near misses, to support our constant strive to improve the quality and safety of the care we deliver.
In order to achieve this, we want to make the incident reporting process as quick and simple as we possibly can, but we need your help to achieve this.
Currently, the governance department are reviewing the incident form – one of the areas under development is the coding and categorisation process and associated options.
To ensure that colleagues reporting incidents experience as quick and easy a process as possible, a consultation is currently underway. The initial key focus is to review the staff experience when reporting, but this is also an opportunity to raise any frustrations or improvement requirements associated with the incident reporting process and management.
Colleagues wishing to take part in the incident reporting consultation are encouraged to download the from below and return the completed form to kristina.murphy2@nhs.net by Friday 28 May.
