How Unity will impact integrated care – admission avoidance
Unity will help to transform the way we share data across acute and community settings. It will mean that colleagues have the same comprehensive view of our patient records, enabling them to provide better and safer care.
Be sure to check out this video featuring Lyndsey Pearson, trainee advanced nurse practitioner in admission avoidance, who shares her view of how Unity will impact integrated care.
Star of the week – Leah Williams, Ward Sister, Newton 3
Congratulations to Leah Williams, Ward Sister, Newton 3 who is this weeks Star of the Week!
Leah was nominated for the award by her colleague Rachael Currie who wanted to recognise the support Leah had provided the whole ward team during a difficult six month period.
Nominating Leah for the award, Rachael wrote, “Throughout a really difficult 6 months, Leah was always supportive of myself and the rest of Newton Three. She was a huge role model for myself and the rest of the team during this time and together we managed to make real positive changes on this ward.
Leah worked extremely hard during this period and should be recognised.”
If you have a colleague who you feel has gone above and beyond the call of duty and deserves recognition and has demonstrated our nine care promises, nominate them for the Star of the Week.

So how healthy is your diet? Take our short survey now to find out and we’ll share the results soon. The survey should only take a few minutes to complete. You can complete it by clicking the link below:

Car parking at rear of Summerfield House at City to re-open for colleagues
From Monday 5 August, the car park at the rear of Summerfield House at City Hospital will be re-opened for colleague use only. Access to the car park is via gate 4 off Western Road, through the entry barrier near the Sheldon block, then turn immediately right after going through the entry barrier, and follow the one way system around to the back of the building. The exit of the car park is at the other end of the building.
This has created an additional 70 spaces to help relieve pressure on the City car parks. Please ensure that you adhere to the Trust’s car parking policy at all times by parking in designated marked bays only.
Note: Parking on grass verges, footpaths, red or yellow lines/hatching or across more than one space may result in your vehicle being issued with a parking charge notice.
